Adventure, Culture, History and Nature!

Taos Ski Valley

Skiing & Snowboarding:  Taos Ski Valley, located just three miles from the Taos Mountain Twins, is one of the most renown winter sports destinations in this country. After years of a "skis only" policy, the Ski Valley will be opened to snowboarders for the first time starting March 19, 2008!

Taos Sky Valley

The resort features more snow than Aspen (312"), more vertical drop than Breckenridge (2,612'), more sun than Sun Valley (88%), and more skiable acres than Telluride (1,294 acres). Best of all, Taos Ski Valley's charm comes with no crowds and no lift lines!

It's also the most affordable world class ski resort in America. Full-day lift ticket rates vary by date and range from:

     Adult: $25-59, Child: $15-36, Teen: $20-46, Senior: $25-44

Half-day lift tickets also vary by date and range from:

     Adult: $20-44, Child: $15-26, Teen: $20-34, Senior: $25-44

The Ski Valley When the Snow's Gone:  Taos Ski Valley is truly a year round recreational destination. The most scenic ski lift operates in warm weather providing unmatched site seeing opportunities.

Taos area fishing

Fishing:  Excellent fishing opportunities abound in both streams and lakes around Taos including the Rio Hondo which flows through the Taos Mountain Twins' property. New Mexico law allows year round fishing.

Manzanita Canyon trail

Hiking and Backpacking:  The trail head for U.S. Forest Service Trail #58 is literally just across Highway 150 from the Taos Mountain Twins. This well maintained yet challenging trail intersects five other U.S. Forrest services trails providing a myriad of trekking opportunities in some of the most scenic areas in the state.

Williams Lake

Another excellent choice is U.S. Forest Service Trail #62 with its trail head located a few miles from the Taos Mountain Twins, just south of the Kachina Chairlift in Taos Ski Valley. This trail passes scenic Williams Lake and proceeds on to the top of 13,161 foot Wheeler Peak, the tallest in New Mexico.

Riding in Taos' high country

Horse Back Riding:  A variety of riding stables in the Taos area provide the opportunity to see the high country on horse back. An excellent full-service equestrian facility is located just three miles from Taos Mountain Twins in Taos Ski Valley.

Biking in the mountain surrounding Taos

Mountain Biking:  The large number of trails around the Taos Mountain Twins and in the Taos area provide virtually endless opportunities for biking adventures. Rental bikes are available from several area operators.
